From bad to worse
#1

I have been chasing down stumbling issues for a while now. I recently had the valve cover gasket replaced. I decided I would check the plugs to look for any signs of lean/rich running condition. 3 out of 4 cylinders had oil around the plugs and cylinder 4 had a chocolate brown look to it. I'm guessing my head gasket is toast. I really don't know what to do now. My car isn't in the best shape (scratched up paint discolored dash torn up headliner, overheating issues). Do i sell, part-out, or restore? I just don't know if i can justify a motor rebuild/freshening up with all of these other problems still needing addressed. I have a 951 in great shape that needs a turbo replacement and what sounds to be a bad valve. So, I'm wondering if I should just focus on that. Perhaps I could take my 16v head and throw it on the 951? Not sure if this is possible or not, but seems like a cool idea if it is.

i can't make the decision or a recommendation. only you can decide which car you like best. that being said, it definitely sounds like you need to get rid of one of them, as it seems that money is the issue, and supporting 2 broken cars is never good if that is the case.
