From 8 cylinders to 4 !
#1

Hi all,  glad to be new member.  Just picked up a 93/968 base/89K/oak green/tan interior/6-spd/good overall shape with all maintenance records. Paint/interior partly faded/burnt from sitting non registered in southern sun for 3+ yrs.  Going to refresh all rubber/paint/suspension above/below & other assorted upgrades; nothing crazy.  It's a great driving ride as is!  I used to own a 87/924S & enjoyed it. So after selling my beloved 66/427 AC Cobra & bidding her fair well, off to Romania.  I needed a replacement.  Now I no longer need earplugs for spirited afternoon cruising.  I can also "Now" pass more than every gas station on the road.  24 mpg over 5 mpg!  I'm loving it B)  Although, that AC brought me closer to the Creator than I ever thought possible  Huh   Ok, I rattled on too much already.  Hopefully I will be able to learn a  lot from the members here as questions arise.  Perhaps I'll get a chance to meet some of you at future events here in the North-East.

Best to All

Sage 968

Welcome !  What’s the “ off to Romania “ about ?  I was born and raised there until I was15 years old, but that was over 50 years ago , so just curious .  As for the Cobra ( the decibel equivalent of a Harley-Davison ) and the incredible rush of that 8 Cyl acceleration, you’ll miss for a little while , but the 968 is such a great vehicle, in every respect, you’ll soon get over the nostalgia of the Cobra .   I had a 1970 ‘cuda  ( 440 six pack ) and there are brief moments where I have fond  memories of that era’s cars , but getting in the 968 and driving it around is such a joy, it’s a great remedy .

I sold my AC about 6 months ago to a Marious V. in Romania.  I placed an add on graig's list for a 70 mustang convertible.  Various contacted me & said he wanted it.  As it was a restoration project, I told him to send me a check for $ 10K & I would send it to him.  Dam if not a week later I received a check for $10K.  After it cleared I shipped the stang to him; he covered shipping.  He then learned I also had a AC Cobra w/ an original NASCAR 427 (G) block side oiler.  Well after experiencing medical & physical problems I decided to let it go as well.  Various flew over & spent a week @ my home & learning about the AC.  By weeks end the deal was closed & I transported the AC w/Marious to the NYC docks (enclosed trailer) where she was loaded up & shipped off to her new home in Romania!.  My original intention was to restore the mustang & use it as a tow car for the AC.  Now Marious is planning the same.  I'm waiting for the restoration completion on the stang & view the completed project with the two hooked up.  It's been about 6 months so I will most likely contact him in the next month to see how he is fairing.  I am very happy with the downgrade/upgrade depending on one's point of view to the 968. I fully expect the 968 to give me years of pleasure & with cruse control & AC Smile
