Today my teammate Harry and I drove the 4 hour race in Zandvoort of the Winter Edurance Championship here in Holland. It was cold, wet and very slippery. After 22 laps Harry lost the car at around 90 mph/ 140 kmh. The car was quite damaged. A short clip:

So glad Harry was unhurt and had help immediately at the incident. Always sad and terrible to see a 968 bent-up. Nonetheless, I hope that unlike me, you are able to repair your 968 and be back up and running 110% in time for the warmer season.

This is the only part of racing I do not like, but it is racing and when we push hard, spins happen. And that did not look like a very forgiving set of twisties, with some nasty barriers ready, willing, and able.

I know there is probably not much, but please do not hesitate to ask if there is anything I can do from this side of the pond. You'll be back in no time....

ouch! that sucks

looks like he cut the line short at the beginning of the turn and then crossed over the snow and lost it after that

this is why i don't even drive my car in the rain, let alone a frozen track

nice job coming to a stop off track though

That sucks. Too bad about the car, but glad Harry was unhurt.

It is hard to tell what happened, especially since we don't see what a good lap looks like going thru there. To me, it looks like he reaches for an upshift and the backend steps out when puts in the clutch.

Hopefully the car can be repaired.

Bad luck guys. Glad no one was hurt.

Haven't done any racing in cold wet conditions for years and never with snow! Only a bit of blowing sand here to slippery up our tracks.

No injuries - great!

Car doesn't look that beat up, reckon it should be a be an easy fix - it rolls straight and and everything seems to line up ok (but hard to tell from the video). The impact also looks smooth as the car is already spinning when it hits the armcos. Good luck.

Good to see that he is OK. At those speeds and on those conditions so many things could go wrong. Takes a lot of courage to go out there.

Good news: all the parts are in and the repair is pretty straight forward. Best of all: the compressor kit from the USA came in on Friday. So the CS will come back stronger at the next race. As long as it is dry and not cold any more, obviously... [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif[/img]
