I have heard from others that these are nice tires - any experiences out there?



Has anyone used these on stock 16" rims?



I see that the 16" rears (the 225s) are 55s (aspect ratio), rather than the stock 50s. Any handling or rubbing issues? Seems to me the diff should just be just over 1/2" in height (if my calculations are right).

I had the SO-3's on my 16 - they were a great tire - very good handling, wet traction, and I got just over 20k out of them. I just replaced them with RE750 because they didn't have the size I was looking for in SO-3's anymore (245/45 & 225/50). I don't know what difference the 225/55 would make?



Also if you look at the recommended rim size you will notice that the 205/55 is a 6.5" rim instead of our 7" and the 225/50 was 7" not our 8" (don't know about the 225/55) - That was what ultimately lead me to the 245/45 and 225/50 combination, they are a match to stock rim widths.



Bottom line - I loved my SO-3's just couldn't replace them with the sizes I wanted...

I have had S03's on several different wheels and have always loved them. They were/are a great tire. Amazing wet traction with superior dry traction. The only thing I didn't really like was their lack of sound when getting pushed. They never make noise, sliding or otherwise until they are very hot (read: ~5-10 laps at VIR Full). This caused me when I was first getting into performance driving to push myself further as I am keen on listening to the engine and the tires when driving. PZero's on the otherhand squeel well before their breaking point. I bought a set of S03's for my 18's as when I bought my 225/40 fronts from TireRack when they said they were being replaced, so I purchased a matching 225/40 - 255/35 set.



Great tire, great buy! The only tire I would buy otherwise would be a Michelin PS2, but the difference to me is negligable. As to mileage, I get between 5-7k out of a set of S03's before the wear bars. About 10-12k miles out of a set of PS2's, and still working on the S03's. Albeit these were all on different cars with different size wheels so take that with a grain of salt.

I have the SO3's. Don't know about track performance, but on my 968, w/ 17" rims, and plenty of tread remaining, the wet traction is excellent. Drove from Princeton to Atlantic City with heavy rain the entire time. On the AC Exp, you can move out, and even in the rain, the car held the line and was very stable. I was frankly suprised. I have Dunlop Sport 5000's on my 944, with "16 rims, and I could not have done the same drive in those conditions.

i am extremely bummed - i had my wheels made around the particular size tire i have (255/35/18), and now, they are discontinuing it and not replacing it with the same size - so far, i've found no other manufacturer makes that size, that also makes the rear size (285/30/18) - this is a huge problem - i may have to have my front wheels redone just so i can go up a size and not smack the fender

I have had the Neova Yoks on my car for a few months they are 18" and the best/stickiest tire I have ever had. I have a brand new set of PS2's in my garage now because I am waiting for a set of 19" to be delivered. I got a smoking deal on the PS2's. However if I had my choice in tire I would get the Neova. Definatley a tire to consider, especially if you see any track time.
