Finally Porsche Owner
#1

I've waited more decades than I care to count to own a Porsche. Finally, I have one. A 1993 968 Coupe in black has found its way to my garage, nestling snuggly with my 2006 MB SL 55 AMG. Most of my cars for the last 20 years have been Mercedes, but Porsche has always been on my wish list. A 911 has always been somewhat out of reach, and 944s have become pretty pricey, too. I think the 968 is in the sweet spot of being just right in performance and price, so I jumped at the chance to add one to my small fleet. I flew seven hundred miles to get it and drove it back with a friend in one day. I love it already! It's not a rare one, but that's not why I bought it, and it makes it easier to jump in and drive as often as I want. I can't drive a manual any more so I got a Tiptronic, but that's OK, too. My wife can drive it when she wants to relive her days in an Alfa, and I don't have to worry unduly about anything going wrong or getting damaged. (Not that I want to see my new baby hurt in any way.) E just plan to enjoy it completely. Thanks for letting me join this group and letting me share the experience with you.

You picked a great can to start Porsche ownership. This is a really well rounded and practical car that can make a good daily driver as well as a fun toy.

Welcome to the club. I know you will enjoy your new car. If you intend to do any of your own work "DIY" you might be interested in Clark's Garage.com at the link below. It is mainly for the 944 but a good portion of the work covers the 968.

Welcome.   Please don't discount the Tiptronic too much, it is actually a very nice trans that makes for good fun.   Search the forum a bit to learn some of the subtleties about how it works.  Mine is also a Coupe / Tiptronic combination which is the best 968 form for me.  But mine is Silver, so it is one of the faster 968s.   Huh
