Tahoe Blue 928
#1

Check out this link to what I think is a Tahoe blue 928. Do you think the interior was done by Porsche? I've always had a certain affinity for the 928 but I'm not sure I could afford to maintain one.

And it's a stick-shift as well (uncommon for 928's). Pretty interesting car.

I doubt that this one will stay on the market long if it is in good condition. A 928 S4 with a manual transmission is a rare car, highly sought after by enthusiasts of the model. there were a pair of these cars in the Porsche Corral at Laguna Seca last August. I had a veryy interesting conversation with the owners who just absolutely rave about the car. For what it is worth their comment on the maintenance issue is that you need to stay on top of it like any other Porsche and the car will deliver reliable service. The cost of maintenace is higher than it would be for say a 968 as there is more to do and less space within the engine compartment to do it.

Wow, that's a beauty ! Does anyone know what percentage of 928s came with manual trans ?
I heard it was not even 10% , but have no clue if that's accurate. Seems way to low, why would Porsche
bother at all if that was indeed the case ?

Anyway, I agree with Chris - I'm giving that car only a couple of days and some serious bidding before it gets sold..

it is indeed amazing at how torquey that engine feels when coupled to a manual trans - i've had the pleasure of driving a couple - VERY different experience than the automatic - much more dramatic than the difference between our automatic and manual

also much more of a handful though - that's a big heavy car to sling around

I've never seen a stick 928. Not that I go hunting for them but when I am at the shops I get lucky sometimes. This one looks to be a very nice example.

I don't think that interior is stock. Nice car. Love the color.

Ive driven an 87 928 manual. It was indeed a blast to drive. Engine pulls very hard.

That one is very unique. Even though our cars were less expensive, the 68 makes the 28 look dated. Espesially at the headlamps, hood lines and rear end.

But I like the intr on the 28 better then the 68s.

Personally, I love the look of the 928 and think it has aged very well. A well designed car is a well designed car, then and now. Many great cars don't look like today's cars but they are gorgeous none the less. So a car looking "dated" does not bother me as long its a great/interesting/beautiful design.

I love 928s as well but I understand they have liquid filled motor mounts, which when they go, allow the engine to fall deeper into the engine compartment.

And Tahoe blue again to go along with the 1 of 5 tahoe blue 968 cab on eBay yesterday.
