Farewell old girl you'll be missed
#1

So, with great pain, I've sold my 968.
It has not been an easy sale.
Mostly on my end because of resisting.
She's been a great car and treated me well.
We've had lots of fun and had many great drives.
I will be deeply sadend once she's on the transporter and off to
her new owner. I sure hope enjoys her as much as I have.

Because of this great car, I've met lots of wonderful people.
Some of which I hope to have life long friendships with.

Although the 968 has changed hands, I will still be here.
Perhaps back in another 968 in the near future.

Thanks Jim.
I'm sure it'll hit home next week when it gets picked up.

I'll still be going to all the local events.

You better schedule for Hershey this year.

Well, Pat, I guess congratulations are in order...sort of! I don't think you'll have a problem picking up another when you're ready. As for Hershey, you can always drive my Coupe!

Doesn't even need saying, but you are welcome to any event anytime, anywhere, no matter what!

I suspect that you will get the itch for another, and the sooner the better.

Pat,
Best of luck.

BTW, do you still have a 968 parts collection or have you cleaned that out as well?

Thanks guys, I'll spoil the party by showing up with the 951.
I'll be sure to park out of eye sight. I would not want to create
another Boxter incident.....LOL

Jeff I just listed a few things in the classifieds. I still have a bunch
944/951/968 type spares. Nothing major though. I'll still be hunting parts.

I do have brand new RSB upper and lower stress bars and a light flywheel I'm going to list.
The upper bar has been mirror polished.
I will also have nice set of polished 18" super cups in a few days going up for sale.

ahhhhh. I knew the day was coming. How long can a single guy keep up with 3 cars? or was it 4?
Glad to hear your not leaving the forum. your advice and DIYs are appreciated. You've really gotten to know your way around these machines and that kind knowledge is needed around here.

With any luck, I'll be able to smoke your 951 one day going down 295 in my 968-SC

I'll be watching your FS posts.

knowing the reasoning behind the decision, i think this is a positive short term move that will make way for you to have the 968 of your dreams later on - best of luck - i am sure we will continue to see you around here and at events - the friends made here last beyond the ownership of a car

David I'll hunt you down and let you chase me thru the streets

Flash, thanks for all your help and advise over the years. You've become
a mentor to me on many things way beyond the 968.
I'm not going anywhere. I'll be here like a thorn.

Pat,

It was a pleasure meeting you in person at RSB a few weeks ago.
I'm sorry to hear that you had to let your car go. A great car from what I saw.

I hope you make good on your promise to continue on this forum. From what I have read, you add a lot of value.
Thanks for that.

I really appreceiate the kind words guys.
This is the exact reason I will stick around.

It's comments like that and all the fine folks here at 968forums that have made
my 968 ownership that much better.

Well, today is the day.
The transporter will be here in a few hours.
Took her for a last spin last nite. Tomarrow is gonna suck.

On a brighter note, this is good boost weather. Gonna take the 951
out in anger tonight!

The 968 is offically gone...

This is gonna be a long weekend. As mentioned bitter sweet.

Just got back from a nice ride in the 951.
30 degrees out, sure was fun.

Pat,

I know the feeling having let a couple of these go (one very nice black M030 comes to mind...). There are always others. I dig the 951 myself and would like another one of those too.

Stop by when you're in Jersey. I leave in May now.
