False advertising seems to be perfectly fine
#1

This is one example from what are countless “flash banners” just about everywhere online ..allegedly this is the interior of the Nissan Rogue SUV, just as the image shows .   It’s actually the interior of a top of the line $ 120,000 Volvo XC 90 T 8...far from a Nissan !  How is this kind of blatantly misleading , false advertising not illegal and subject to penalties and sanctions ?!   Ugh, I’ve heard of bait and switch tactics but this takes it to a whole new level .. unethical to say the least .  IMO

Send it to your Volvo dealer, they have a vested interest in stopping such.

You need to start focusing on the positive. Eliminate this negative pandering as it is seizing your brain. Breathe deeply grasshopper.

oh, puh-lease...  positivity is for eternal optimists .  you know what the definition of a pessimist is ?   it’s an optimist with experience

you remind me of another friend promoting this positive thinking philosophy, and who said :  a good start would be never to use the word “problem” in any sentence, simply replace it with “opportunity” .    I have to admit it worked out ok ;  I determined have a drinking...opportunity .   :glare:

You misunderstand of course. I’m not promoting a positive thinking philosophy. I don’t like granola either. Perhaps what I should have written was look to the positives when negatives occur. Be grateful for what you have. Don’t compare. I’ve lost my father, climbed out of a car that blew up and was in a raging fire which burned down my garage and breezeway and lost my job. I’m merely looking to what I have in life and not what I lost. I control very little and don’t waste my time comparing myself to others. Value only what is important. It reduces a lot of clutter and clears the mind. And no I don’t read any of that bs liberal Marxist progressive clean green nonsense. Wake up calls can have great value if one listens.

This  grasshopper is what I meant to say. Of course if one wants to ride the white horse with Pancho at your side and use a wooden staff to correct the wrongs in this world, then by all means carry on.

Agreed.  And I always have, and will continue to view life just as you describe above .   That said,  addressing some “little things” with negativity or contempt does in no way detract from the broader outlook on the matters which are most important .

I have not eliminated negativity entirely. It is like a seasoning that one learns to enjoy.

Now, this “teaser“ ad takes the cake !      Best new cars for seniors ....and they use a photo of a Pagani interior !

Then again, who says senior citizens can’t have fun buying and driving Paganis  ?  Wink

The real question is can they get in and out. I realize I will have to continue exercising and keeping my core strong to keep this up!

It isn’t easy ..I’ve seen a couple up close, in-person at a car show  (  the driver door was open ) and although I didn’t sit in one, my impression was - no way !   Heck, I had a really hard time getting in and out of the Carrera GT  when I went to the German autofest  in Southern California, and I was fifteen years younger then..

Thoughtful seniors design though, even down to the hole in the seat for the catheter tube ....

Perhaps handles to help pull yourself up and out. Would that come with a detachable bag for the catheter? I continually forget to unhook my cool shirt tubes and stay attached.

Though to be slightly more sensible about the Pagini interior ..... do any of you appreciate the aesthetics?

I would find all that chrome in front of my eyes distracting, as well as multi-angled reflection surfaces .... surely there would be frequent sun flashes?

And the dramatic flat spot on the steering wheel .... just a style statement? So you know which way is up? Ease of access provided you parked with your wheels straight?

I guess when you pay that much you expect everything to be different to what anyone else has....

Aesthetics are very subjective of course, so chaq’un a son gout, but since you asked ...to me not just the interior of the Pagani is garish, but the entire car is one of the butt-ugliest designs I’ve seen ( for a sports car ) . Ridiculously exaggerated lines, and that rear ended is horrible.  To add insult to injury, many of them are all carbon fiber ( I don’t mean painted over carbon fiber, but the material as is ) another look I find to be ..tacky !   Others see it as a futuristic look and love it .  ( they better ..since they spend about $ 2 mil. - $ 3 mil.  for it .)

But what do I really think of the Pagani , you wonder ..  :glare:  Tongue
