A/C ain't what it used to be...
#1

I have a 92 cab and find that the a/c blows like mad, but isn't very cold. Is there a retro fit of some sort to update it to modern standards?

Thanks,

Keith

Thank you! Wish I would have seen this a couple of weeks ago. I might of had a chance for a cool ride to Paso Robles... As it sits, I'm happy to learn of a great option for the R12 system!

You can also get an EPA 609 certification (you'll need to take an multiple choice test on-line), and then buy can of R12 legally on eBay for ~$20/can. If you are low, it might just be that you need a little more charge because your refrigerant leaked over the years.

$1200 to change complete system; $600. for the conversion; $265.00 to get it re-charged with the old r-12. I chose the third option. Local guy has 80 gallon drums of the stuff. I imagine all the stuff that has been produced will find it's way to the OZONE somehow, and I am not happy about that. However, it was 102* outside today, and I could cut glass with my nipples in my frosty 968.

You really should include your gender in your profile before you post such comments.
