Thanks for all the nice comments - it is nice to share with folks who can appreciate it and also see in their own garage what's going on!
(Also helps me forget about the one injector not seating quite right on reinstall and spraying fuel everywhere <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> , or the bolts dropped (please fall through....please fall through... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> ), or digging out the damned hex bolts that were stripped <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> , or stepping by mistake on a piece I had just painted <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> , or.....well you get the idea!)
This is actually part one of my four part "restoration" plan. In case anyone is curious here's more of a breakdown (not including shipping or anything that comes in a tube) and costs to do something like this:
Labor: Priceless
Airbox:
Four Port Tubes, $16,
http://www.crutchfield.com/
K&N Filter, $44,
http://www.ajusa.com
Engine Stuff:
Injector Rail Lettering, $37, and Oil Cap with Porsche Crest, $130,
http://jageng.com/garage9/
Cam and Intake Gaskets, $40,
http://www.pelicanparts.com
Sealing Rings (for plugs), $8 (one from Pelican three from Pap Parts -
http://www.pap-parts.com)
Two Mounting Absorbers (to fix what I found to be a jury rigged injector rail), $39, from Pelican.
Alarm Horn - e-bay, $5
Plug Wires and Plugs, $180, Pap Parts
Fuel Injector Cleaning, Marren, $110
Parts Cleaning - Puget Sound Coatings, $165 (Just couldn't get the yellow off - THEY sure could)
O Rings, $9, Pelican
13 Thrust Rings, $24, Pelican
And probably a few bolts and washers I am forgetting about...and paint about $25...
So overall about $850 plus the priceless labor.
