Tie downs?
#1

While going through my "new" '92 cab, I found two plates that look as though they may be bolted on somewhere and used as tie-downs. Since I cannot seem to get my photos on the site properly, I can only try to describe them: They are approximately the size and shape of your flattened hand, with one edge folded at a right angle to the rest of the plate. The folded area has two machine thread bolt holes, and the larger remaining part of the plate has an unthreaded hole about an 1 1/2" in diameter. My PM couldn't make heads or tails of them, and after a search of the car's underside, no matching holes were spotted.

Any ideas?

There are tie downs that attach to the very front part of the frame rails. Sort of hard to see and get to but you can see them from under the car and from inside the wheel wells. This sounds like what you are describing.
