I'm sitting in the San Antonio airport with an hour before my plane leaves and had to share this experience. About 40 of my company memebers came out to the test grounds for Continental Tire company to do a ride and drive at their test track. 15000 acre facility with all kinds of courses both wet and dry to test similiar cars ('10 mustang Gt's and Mercedes C300) equiped with both their tires and competitor tires. Well that was all great as we got to flog these cars as hard as we wanted to really feel the difference between the tires. Spun one Mustang in a 720 at 70 mph-----pretty neat. The highlight though was Continental had a company from Charlotte there called Supercar Adventures. They brought a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, an Astin Martin, Mercedes AMG with a 6.2 engine, 09 Porsche 911 Turbo. We got to drive these cars ourselves with no instructors on Continental's 8.5 mile oval. Holy s***----------I had the top speeds of the day in both the Lamborghini (184 mph at the Rev Limiter in 7th gear) and the Porsche (175 in 5th) Got the Mercedes up to 160 where the power cuts out both in 6th or 7th. WoW!! the fastest I had ever been was 15 years ago at Mid Ohio in GT3 at 150. What an experience. The world fly's by very fast at 180+ guys. For $200 you can drive these same cars the same way at the track if your ever in Charlotte .
