Dutch get-together
#1

Some weeks ago, on our dutch porscheforum.nl I suggested we select few (i.e. Dutch 968 owners) should get together, as last time I can remember was somewhere last fall...

Today it happened, we were welcome at Race for Fun (the shop where I have my car maintained to really good standards, Harry -the shop owner- really knows these cars well and has several in various states of 'track-readiness') where -rumor has it- there was even some pie, but I guess I was too late for that

Anyway... some pictures This must have been the largest amount of 968s I ever saw at the same time. If I remember correctly, there were 9 of 'em, ranging from very early '92 to one of the latest '94. 2 cabs, 2 CS's and last but not least, my own '93 coupe

BTW for the people with good eyes, you can see Johann's ex car in there as well..

Interesting all dark colors. Cars in great shape. Interesting touch with the red side mirrors and back fin!

TonD,

Love to see groups of 968s anywhere in the world! I am sure your fellow Dutch 968 owners appreciate you coordinating the event.

I really like these informal events where we can just discuss and check out each others car. Although the 968 may have a lot in common with the 944 serie it still has a lot of its own quirky things which only other 968 owners are aware of. So thanks again Ton and Harry.

Well, to be honest I didn't do much more than write "hey, let's get together" and suggest some dates, but well.. sometimes that's all that's needed Last GTG we had a silver coupe, but other than that just dark colors. I think all the wild colors like mint green and fuchsia etc are being parted out at the moment, to keep the more popular colored cars alive. Sad but true.

WOW one prettier then the next love to see 968's together. Is it mostly dark colors in your area? I am looking for a very rare color 968, but I have been looking for years already. I have Midnight blue, classic grey interior. It is pretty but not unique at all.

The cars I've seen in NL almost all have been dark colored indeed. Mine is a midnight blue with marine interior as well. Hardly a unique combination, but I think the 968 is unique enough by itself and I rather have a gorgeous color combination than a unique one ;-)

But if you are into mint / pink / purple ones, you should keep an eye out on the Japanese market, as it seems all 'odd' colors went to that market. Have seen a lot while searching for this one

YES you are right I found my dream car in Japan. I was thrilled but when I went to buy it I was wold they could not sell it to me. It was pink, ruby stone red, with a dark grey material interior and AUTO! I called Vu at PCNA and he looked it up and said it had euro specs that is why they could not sell it to me. Gosh, I am still disappointed. One funny part though was Vu asking why would I want a 1993 - 968?? Ha, ha he didn't get the passion of a 968 owner.

This spring I was unfortunate enough to have my 968 in the shop when there was a great Porsche (not just 968) event including a mini-DE. However, I was fortunate enough to be allowed to borrow the great Club Sport with Bilstein Cup suspension (at that moment, currently it has JRZ) big reds etc. Was a great experience for me as I had never driven a "track" car before

Rap Would love the pink that I had found but I beleive there is only one in US and it is standard. I have been looking for about 5 years so I don't have much hope but it was a real bummer to find the one I wanted and could not buy.
