used up one of my nine lives yesterday
#1

Took the cab out for a spin yesterday to keep the battery charged. As I was going back to the garage I hit a section of icy road and the wind came up exactly then. It turned the back of the car sideways and I ended up doing a 360 in the road at about 60 kph. Was on my side, the other side and back to my side. Just kept on going! I saw the guy behind me from all angles! If another car had been coming toward me I would have been toast as well as the car. As it was, I have 8 lives left. But I am getting older so I am hoping that this will be enough.

I saw a college-age girl do that in front of me once. She managed to keep on driving. When I caught up to her car and looked over at her, we both shared thumbs-ups!

Good for you, too, Kim!

well done Kim ! good to know you ( and the car ) came out of that unscathed..

as for college girls, it's better to have them do a 360 on you, not in front of you

My buddy's daughter did that a couple of years back in his 968 cab. She didn,t fair so well and ended up upside down. Several sergeries later and some scars for momentos she is fine, but the 968 was a total. But there was a silver lining, he replaced it with a carrerra 4. Different animal, but very nice. He still misses the 968.

We had one of our own ( NorCal group .. Steve, IIRC ..) walk away without a scratch from a complete roll over in his 968 cab . Car was totaled.

I did that only going about 15 or so going around a turn on some icy road. Newfound respect for what not to do. I don't want to even think about that at 60.

I did it too recently at VIR trying to stop the darn thing from abt 125 going into T1 on 4 yr old Hoosiers with too much rear suspension height, a bad caliper, and a hell of a lot of cars stopping much faster than I was in front of me as they tried to avoid some other driver all sideways on his own in the middle of the turn!

Glad to hear you made it ok Kim!

Now; back to Flash's college girl......
