Did my first autocross this weekend
#1

It was a blast!

PCA New England Region at Moore Airfield in Devens, MA. The fastest cars were running high 60's/low 70's. My first run I spent learning the car, sliding all over the place, and punching the throttle way too much - although I managed not to spin. I ran a 90.1 second lap that run.

We had 6 runs in the morning, then 5 in the afternoon. I had an instructor with me for all of the morning runs, then two of the afternoon runs. By the final morning lap, I improved my time to an 80.162.

It rained while I was out working the course, and it was still somewhat wet while I got to do my second session.

Here's a video of my last run - I managed to shave it down to a 78.4, but hit one cone. There are a few areas I can see from the video that I could have been going a lot faster in a better line (specifically, the quarter turn after the second section, and the quarter turn through the box at the 3rd turn.

Signed up for the next one in two more weeks! I'm hooked. The car handles great, and seemed plenty fast for the course. A better driver in my car could have probably shaved 6-7 more seconds off my time.

Great run. I did my first one in June and noticed the same thing. More runs will make you better. Boy it is addicting though.

Ah adrenalin - what a drug. It is slippery slope from here. Well done for getting out there and giving it a go. Well done on the level of improvement on the day.

It's like Umma getting the shot of adrenaline to the heart. Throw in some fear and the ups and downs are great!
