Daylight savings hassle
#21

I can see that - so why not have DST be the year-round time configuration? Places like Arizona, which get more than their fill of sunshine, would probably want to stay on "standard time", but that's fine. The point is, why switch back and forth?

Good question, probably because people don't eat bacon in the dark, and eat more bacon when it is just starting to get light at dawn, so the bacon industry lobbies for standard time. Else people would leave for work/school when it is still dark without eating their bacon. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/whine.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Also if the winter was on DST, daylight will come an hour later in the morning, so that means Santa would have to work for an extra hour on Christmas morning -- hey ... he works all year making toys ... give the guy a break.

Haha. No, probably more realistically it is either:

1. the education industry (schools) don't want the kids traveling in the dark in the morning.

2. our governments are stuck in the mud, they are essentially useless right now, so they don't change anything.

+1 on Cloud's comment, we can use all the evening light in winter. And maybe there will be less people who throw themselves of a bridge due to severe depression.

If those people had a 968 it would give them a reason to live, and at the current market price there's no excuse for not buying one. So that's my advice for the perfect antidote to anyone contemplating jumping off a bridge.

You have missed your calling! Have you ever thought of becoming a mental health advocate? You could focus on mid life crisis among male boomers. Imagine this... Don't jump I have a 93 cab with a sc that will change your life. No disrespect meant to those with mental health issues.

Hilarious, but if you’re easily offended by “colorful” language , just turn it off after the first 3-5 seconds

So this is what Shakespeare meant by  “the winter of our discontent “ , it was a prediction of 2020 ?   :glare:

yeah, but I am curious who the glorious "Son of York" is going to be. If it was "Son of Yolk" we all might have some idea.

My brother says that adding an hour to 2020 is like getting a bonus track on a Yoko Ono record ?
