This is probably old topic but I am going to change tires(sizes) from stock 205/55/16 frt-225/50/16 rr to 225/50/16 frt-245/45/16 rr set up.I know this is pushing the limit for the stock wheel sizes but I would like a little wider stance.Any thoughts or experience with this set up?Can I expect any ride/handling differences?Actually going to do it in the morning.

Those tire sizes are within the limits of the wheels and work very well. They are also very close to the same diameter and it should not affect the gearing and speedo reading. I have those size tires on stock rims for my race tires Toyo RA-1 and they work great. What tire are you getting?

Actually,I've got them on now(Fuzion ZR something)(16" tires in the 225 size or larger are harder to find now)(Had Dunlop 901 fm somethings)(actually they were in real good shape-at least 1/2 tread remaining on all tires)(205 and 225) that would sell cheap if anyone is looking for that set up.I like the look and feel(in the beginning a little noisier than the Dunlops. They fill up the wheel wells better.
