1117 or 1127
#1

While driving around the block last weekend, I got the Big Red ! . I had just done the speedo gear replacement so I thought a had a connector come loose or not seat properly. Took the dash apart and disconnected and reconnected all 3 plugs.........same thing. Tried to do the blink test and couldn't get anything to blink..............so I did what I always do when I'm scratching my head.....Call Flash. We walked thru the blink process 2-3 times...........no blink. Flash suggested disconnecting the Positive battery lead for an hour and let everything charge down and let the computer reset. Did it.same thing. Just before I resigned myself to a dealer trip, I reached in the throttle body and opened it up by hand to the max, held it for 5 seconds and then looked inside..............the old Check Engine was blinking away. The bolt under the peddle was set too high not allowing the Throttle to open to its max point and initiate the blink test. Damn.
Anyway, the blinking is one long one and then what appears to be 3 kinda short ones then 7 rapid flashes. Looking at the Blink Test codes............there is only 2 with a 7 last position blink. 1) 1117- Oil Temp Sender or 2) 1127-Open Winding of the idle Stabilizer. Flash is going to look into this a little closer today and give me a call, but I thought I would post this everyone could follow along with my frustration and maybe know how to overcome these two codes. The 3 short flashes could be the 1)Sender with the " Second position 2 flash intermittant" signal , or its the 2) "Open Winding" which I don't have a clue what that is or how to fix it. Hope Flash calls befor 3 EST or I'll be way too many beers into this hot Florida day to do anything serious. LOL................

I think I red some more times that people will not be able to activate the blink process. This must be the reason. Maybe the cable stretched a little during the years that passed away.

sorry i didn't get back to you on this - i have been thusfar unable to get any farther with diagnosis

as for the blink thing, i suspect it was not the cable, as much as maybe the stop at the bottom, but who knows? either way, adjusted properly, there will be more power at the end

Yup, your right. When I asjusted the bolt down to the point the blinking started with the peddle, I drove it. BIG DIFFERENCE!!! Now I just have to get that light off. I sent my post to Pete @ RSBARN............I hope he answers. If not, its off to the dealer.

just make sure that you aren't over-stretching the cable - match the pedal stop with the end of the cable at full open on the throttle body

When I had the wife mash the peddle while I was at the throttle body she said that the peddle was sticking when all the way down. What I found was that there is half circle molded to the bottom of the accelerator peddle that when pushed down hard against the bolt stop was actually getting hung up with the bolt edges. Don't know whether the peddle is a bit mis aligned or what...............but that could be a pretty scary thing to happen if you got a bit too much adreneline going and mashed it too hard. I think I'm going to take the bolt out and grind down the head so that won't be an issue. Still got the same codes going on although short 2 mile drives don't seem to have hurt the performance any. Picking up that extra 1/2 inch of thrittle body sure did though. Like a new car. Haven't seen any further posts with what those codes might be and their repair............so it looks like its off to the dealer. Stay tuned.
