These look like a couple of viable, member-edited options for the Member Map. Seems that the code allows members to pick and choose what is shared, what is not shared, to change their info.... where as you needed an administrator before (*ahem*), to constantly monitor, add, change.... and that sucks.

http://www.makeuseof...ve-google-maps/ and
http://www.ehow.com/...oogle-maps.html describe setting up an external map that members access on their own.
But again, I'm not interested. That chewed up about two months of my life and all motivation I had in undertaking the task in the first place. The code option would be nice, as it would be (as I understood it) part of our profiles.
