Bosch plugs
#1

Bosch has two plugs to choose from now. They have a new plug called Platinum lr Fusion (cost $7.70) and the Platinum+4 (at $4.18). Do you think the new Fusion plug is worth the extra dollars? I'm replacing the plugs on my 02 MB ML 320 this weekend. 6 cylinder but 2 plugs per cylinder. I used the +4 on my 968. Thanks

My personal thoughts on the +4 plugs is that they slow down the flame growth in the cylinder, because there are so many prongs in the way. The Iridium enhanced plugs do last longer because of the nature of the material. Unless you have a high performance engine/plugs that are a real pain to change, I would stick with cheaper plugs. The iridium ones last a heck of a lot longer, so it is really up to you. If the plugs are hard to get to, I would say get the better plugs so you can go longer without changing them.

um - that's backwards - platinum lasts longer - iridium sprarks better

these are a "fusion" of both - interesting

i don't know anything about them yet, but i can tell you that i got increased performance with the ngk iridium over both the bosch platinum and the copper

mileage is a non-issue to me, since i change my plugs about every 2k miles, just ot have fresh ones

try them - what can it hurt to find out? it's not like they are going to break the bank

I tried the NGK iridium, bosch stock copper plug and the Bosch platnium II. The Platnium II's gave a definate performance increase over the other two. Try them, you won't be dissapointed.

Iridium is 6x harder and 8x stronger that Platimum, giving pure iridium plugs the ability to have such a small electrode. I use them for the fact that they can go for a long time without losing performance.
