Blaupunkt is kaput
#1

Well it finally happened, my Blaupunkt is kaput. The display has not been working and now there is nothing. Checked the wiring and the radio has power. There is a tape in the deck and it won't even eject it. So, I checked with a audio shop and they said they could send it out for repair and it would cost between $250 and $350 to fix. Onto an upgrade. One of our mechanics has a Pioneer so I'm going to have him install it. I'm not a big audio buff as all I need is basic radio as I only listen to one station and need another for the CD changer (12 disc). After 16 years it had a good run. Bye, bye Blaupunkt.

OK this may be a little late but these guys were great.  They may be a bit rich for what you think you need but I sourced a rebuilt 964 Becker CD220 and it's great.  Good sound, ipod connection and it looks like OEM, rather than the "Ricer" flappy screen monstrosity the car came with.  Check them out.

MY Pioneer works great. Locally I only use one station, two at most with one for the Pioneer 12 disc cd changer. As I said I'm not much of an audio guy if it works with all the OEM speakers that's fine. I do like the clock feature as we all know it is sometimes difficult to read the analog clock.
