Be careful what you wish for

SO, D1R SC being installed this week (yay!), and ask the shop to do a full run-down in the process. Check seals, compression, yadda yadda yadda.... and as you would expect ina 20-year old car - there are some worn parts! I know, *gasp!*.

Anyways, everything thus far has been standard stuff. a loose this, and worn that... but then they look into an electrical gremlin I've experienced every once in a while. Intermittent starting. Every once in a while it takes a second or third crank to get the car to turn over. Not anything HUGE, but I've had hard starting before in other cars and it this was nothing like that. As a side note, my wipers, horn and cruise all have gone out recently.

They experience the intermittent starting so they begin chasing the gremlin. Into the rabbit hole they delved, and they have gone to the point of doing a bypass. They sent me a video and pics... The pics below are of the gremlin chasing. Other pics of the project can be found here http://www.968forums...imp-my-porsche/

I will get engine shots once I get her back. Paint to come next month. Estoril Blue!

Anyhow.... any ideas on this electrical gremlin? They are so much harder to track down than mechanical ones.... GRRRRRRR! All I wanted was 300bhp of fun!

Replaced Fuse box, everything seems to be ok, but the true test will be tomorrow or the next day to see if the car starts, the wipers work, the horn blares and the cruise cruises. Better to get this found out and repaired while they are already involved rather than me flying down I-95 at 70 (or 90).....

remember - the first 65 miles are no more than half throttle and no more than 4krpm

look for leaks and check the fluid level with the engine fully warmed up and running

My cluster lights have gone out recently. i had my mechanic look into it and he's found the dimmer dial that controls the gauge lights is blowing the fuse. On dim the fuse holds, when increased it blows.
