Autobahn Services in Fairfax VA
#1

Any comments about Autobahn Services, Inc. in Fairfax, VA ? They do have a web site Autobahn Services

I'll be scheduling a PPI for a car I'm looking at next week. Don't know if it's good or bad but this is the shop the seller's used and they've done 1 major and 2 minor services on the car since 2002.

I'll let you know my impression after the PPI.

You might want to try the main 944/968 form on rennlist.

Both good suggestions, I should have thought of them. I've been on the 944/968 forum on Pelican but I've only been on the 911 forum on Rennlist.

Thanks

What car are you looking at as I've looked a few in the area over the last few weeks? You can pm me if you wish to keep it private.

I had some repair word done there about half a year ago. I was satisfied with their work, and they were pretty easy to deal with. I underwent a little sticker shock, but I'm a big tightwad, and you pay for what you get, right?

I would definitely recommend them for a PPI, though, they seemed very thorough and knew their stuff.

You can also contact IMA Motorsport in Fairfax (Merrifield area). I was happy with their work as they are very familiar with the 944/968. I believe the owner races a 968 as well.

Hey, Richard,

How are the prices at IMA Motorsport? I was thinking of taking my car to them next time I need some work done.

GuardsRedCoupe,

I'm just going on memory but the prices are definitely less than a dealer but inline with what a good independent shop charges. I know that isn't really definitive, but I can check my receipts at home for the hourly rate.

I was confident in their work because of how much experience they have with the 944/968.

I'll vouch for IMA as well. I had my clutch done there and my timing chain replaced there and have called them numerous times for some help troubleshooting over the phone. I really trust their judgement and they are willing to help any way they can.
