Bob-
I was quoted 524 Euros FOB Strosek for the two single piece side skirts, directly from Strosek. This was back in May/June. I like them too, but I would only put them on a coupe.
This is another source for a front splitter i ran across. Gruppe M in Japan.

They also sell an Exhaust system for our cars, Carbon Fiber Mirror covers, & front airducts (that replace the fog lights). The Front Splitter & air ducts are avail in either Carbon Fiber or what i'm guessing is fiberglass.
This is an image off their sight of the splitter and airducts.
If I were ever to consider a splitter, that's the one. To my eyes, it's the first one that integrates with the lines of the car, and doesn't have that "stuck on" look. Those ducts are also good-looking. Hmmm...
Not bad, but based on the current exchange rate, that's about $650.00 for fiberglass and about $975.00 for carbon fiber (plus freight!)

I agree, i really like this splitter. I may buy a Carbon Fiber unit when my current Splitter cracks (i'm on my 3rd splitter currently). The air ducts are integrated really good as well...better then any other i've seen.
They are expensive though.
Yuk!!!
I'll stick with my factory piece.
STROSEK DESIGN is running a special. € 350- for the splitter. Price doesn't include shipping.
As of 3/13/2009
350.00 EUR = 451.211 USD
Not bad. Where did you see that?
Is that Strosek USA or Europe? Shipping from Europe will kill ya. Jim Craig just got one from Europe. He could tell you what it cost.

I contacted them and they made me the offer. It may have been just for me but I got the feeling there willing to offer it at that price to anyone with an interest.

Yeah, it's Europe. Do you or someone else have the number for the USA branch?
Fred Opert Racing is the distributor in the US. Located in NJ.
Yes, shipping from Europe was not cheap. Biggest issue is the splitter is physically large so packaging forces freight instead of Deutshce Post. But in the end, I think a saved a little cash vs. getting it from F.O. ... YMMV.
Exchange rates where worse when I bought as well. Right now might be better overall.
I'll be getting the cab back soon, so I can start working on getting that bad boy mounted! Can't to see the finished product...

And we cant wait to see the pics. Thanks for all the info you sent me over PM as well. That was appreciated.
Strongly considering the swap meet now. I have only a few grand of play money and need sooo much. Just may be able to stretch my dollar in PA. Or it may turn out to be a waste of time (as far as part shopping goes) I just dont know.
No problem.
I'm in the same boat- lotsa stuff I want (none of it necessary of course), but the price tags aren't cheap for sure!
The swap meet is a crap shoot... You may find everything you want for good prices or you may find nothing but junk. Either way, it's always cool to see a bunch of neat Porsches and a boat load of 968's all in one place.
I recently looked into the GT racing splitter which sells for under $200 + shipping. It's a fiberglass unit and installs by loosening the bat-wing and sandwiching the splitter between the bumper and the batwing, using existing fasteners. Does anyone have any experience with this product?
i have one that is either a GT or an AIR sitting in my garage as we speak - it belongs to the supercharged car - neither of us expects it to last long, but since he has it...........
since painting cost me $200 a shot every time i buckled the porsche motorsport one, and this one is less than $200, i'd rattle can it black and call it a day and just replace the whole danged thing when you bugger it - you could even have a new one ready in the wings for that eventuality

I had a GT one that lasted a few years. Actually destroyed it hitting a baloney skin on the George Washington bridge coming home from Hershey a few years back. Other than that, it held up okay. The Motorsports one has been on since that time, and it looks like new-now I jinxed myself. I rarely drive the car anymore-too many toys. I've put about 12k on it in 9 years.
And if anyone thinks my car sits at normal ride height-ha, probably the lowest one u will ever see. The front splitter will mow your lawn. You cant fit 3 fingers in sideways underneath it.
Got a shipping cost from Strosek for $273.36 to the airport herein town. This is for a splitter and the side skirts. Total $1451.44. FYI I am trying to decide if I want to pull the trigger. Maybe the dollar will increase against the euro.
Ryan-
You may want to ask them if they could ship the skirts separately via Deutsche Post. The things that kill you on the splitter are the dimensions. All wrapped up in the minimal amount of packaging that Strosek would use, the one dimension (depth of the splitter from front edge to the back of the undertray portion IIRC- could be the width too, but I am not sure) was about 3cm beyond the limit for what Deutsche Post would accept, hence it needed to be shipped freight and the cost just blossomed from there. If the side skirts could be packaged separately and shipped via regular post, it may save some coin. Not sure though, but it can't hurt to find out either way.
If you could knock of a few bills, it might make the decision easier.
I would imagine your car would look killer with the 1-piece skirts! (Just call me the Enabler!)
For whatever it's worth - and for the umpteenth (and last!) time: I live about 5 minutes from Fred Opert Racing, which (I am told) is the US representative of Strosek. If anyone is interested in finding out the deal from them, I'd be willing to undertake the investigation. Just be specific about what you're interested in.

OK, I'm interested in the front splitter. What is his total cost and ETA.
If this guy is in NJ I'll fuel up the land cruiser and pick the thing up myself.
