I need help!
My 91 944 Turbo Cab has lost its window lowering function associated with open/close of the power top. You know every time when we open/close the top the window will automatic lower by 2 inches. But it doesn't work any more. Other than that, the windows work normally. So does the power top. Could someone tell me what is missing/has gone wrong with my car?
probably the window regulating relay(s) - they are located in the passenger footwell below a footrest next to the DME

see page 59 and 60 of the cab top manual
Thanks, Flash!
But I only have the 944 cab top manual it only talks about the alignment and setting of the top....are they different?
Anyway I crawled under the dash on the passenger side (left side, as mine is RHD) and I can see three relays hanging there. Two short/aluminum on both sides number 944.615.119.00 and one long/black/plastic 944.615.122.00 in the middle. Are they what the manual referring to?
i only have the 944S2 cab top manual for 89/90 - that's where i got it - pretty sure it's all the same though

yes, those are the ones to which they refer - i have no idea which is which - one is the delaying relay, the others are the regulators - if i had to guess, i'd say the tall one is the delaying relay, which is the one that waits to raise the windows for a bit while closing the top
Isn't it under the carpeting on the floorboard and not under the dash?
not according to the manual - i used the terminology they used - i've never actually seen the pod, but since i have that section apart right now, i can take a look later today
ok - crawled around under there - had to remove the floorplate to gain access to the DME area - the relays are mounted on the back of the DME in the 968

still no idea which is which without going through the diagram though
Thanks to all!
I found it in the Porsche parts catalogthe. For the tall one it said slow-action relay. And yes there was a bracket to hold all 3 relays. But somehow it was gone in my car (blame the previous owner).
Tonight I will go play with it and see if it is the porblem with the relay or just a wire is broken from the power top switch.....
Take some pics and DIY this oiler. No doubt one of us will run into this in the not too distant...

And is this seriously your only topic post in 4 years????
I seldom posted as I searched thru the site I got all the answers from your folks before I asked!
Back to the relay thing I need help again:
For normal type with 85/86/87/30 terminals I will give a voltage to 85/86 and hear the "click" and test if 30/87 close.
But this time the terminals are 87/15/30/31. I gave voltage to each pair and I tried all 6 combination but no "click" at all. Is the relay gone already or it should be tested differently?
Sorry that my knowledge in the e-thing is almost zero.
Your kind advise please.
