Had the same problem with Dside. As I recall each controller has 2 switches (1 for each directional motion - up/down, front/back). The switch was bad. Looked like a PITA to remove the seat so I had the mech do it. Cost a bundle - $150 or so for the switch and 1.5 hrs labor. And who knows, it may have been bad contacts. Not sure if you can check the circuits without removing the seats.

My seats have no forward and backward movement. Its clear when you look down at the front of the seat bottom the plastic cog is stripped. I turned it manually so the gears would grab but it seems to bind up and still have no movement. Does anyone know if the track pieces and cog can be sourced seperately? Thanks

don't know about that, but i think daryl has a set of good classic grey seats.

Call Sunset, they're always helpful about looking through the PET and finding out what can be ordered separately.

It sounds like you guys have issues with your seat switches. I had the same problem, so I removed my seats (not too difficult, although you need a pretty low profile allen wrench to remove the front ones, iirc), took the switches apart, and sanded the contacts with some fine sandpaper. There some little ball bearings that the switches pivot on that are a PITA to keep in position when putting the switches back together, but other than that, the job isn't too bad. There's at least one detailed description on this site as to how to do it. Mine come back to life perfectly when I was done, for an investment of zero dollars - the kind of fix I like!

Auburn,
Are your seats powered? I had a similar problem with my driver's seat. One track would bind and not move, but the other was fine. I took the seat out to track down the problem. Basically there is a long threaded rod which is turned by the motor, and a brass nut that is affixed to the upper seat rail. If the brass nut is stripped, the seat doesn't move.
I looked through the PET, but all I could find was replacement seat rails. I had a brass nut made up for a nominal sum and all is good.

I had same issue with power seats.
Try contact spray cleaner directly into the switch as you operate it in all directions.
Cleaned mine up and are running good as new.

Yes, good idea - definitely try that before taking your switches apart. I'm never that lucky - the contact cleaner trick worked temporarily, but they stopped working again a few days later.
