Good day all. Anyone have issues with their rear wheelwell storage compartment "flaps" not hitting the lip on one or both sides?
My left side is good, right side barely misses the lip. Suggested fixes?
My passenger side has this issue. Haven't looked into it yet, but will try to figure out something at some point.
If you're inclined, you can try sourcing a new trunk carpet from Porsche, but I believe they are not cheap nor readily available.

I'm thinking I'm gonna find something to wedge up in there between the carpet and body panel to push the lip a little further in.
The carpeting is in pretty good shape overall.
i know that if the hardboard on the bottom is missing or broken, the carpet tends to fall inward - also i have seen a lot of the inner pieces deformed due to fasteners missing or broken, moving the lip outward
Had the same problem. It was the side carpets loss of glue at the top of the trunk that created a pouching action where the flap had been resting on the side carpet. This fixed it.

BTW, love the deviating cash/black. Is that original? My carpets are pretty cruddy, hmm......

Don't laugh too hard, for a quick fix I took a wad of bubble wrap formed it into a ball, wrapped some packaging tape around it to keep form in place and shoved it up inbetween the carpet and body panel. Guess what? Works like a charm! I'll get more creative with a less primal fix
sometime soon.

same layout as mine - i wasn't sure about it until i saw it in person - then i loved it
FWIW I stuck my 1st aid kit (in a soft, zippered bag) and other soft things like tire-changing-gloves, space blanket, etc. up into the space between the carpet and the sheetmetal. Worked like a charm for me! Lots of great ideas from others here also! I like the bubble wrap idea. It's cheap, light weight and super effective. Awesome idea!
