Hopefully this works out. It pays more money, is only 2.785 miles from my home (opposed to 37miles) and the place seems to have really good business ethics.

2 hours 26 minutes until I head to the interview.

Best of luck!!
Kick A$$ !!!
Thanks Porschedude. And yes it is kicka$$. I've been trying to get out of my current job for a while now but with the economy being screwed and different personal things that have come up I've had to stay here. If I don't have an answer by tomorrow its going to be a really long weekend.

First order of business if I get the job will be to get my name on the list for a D1/RSB Supercharger and pickup some big reds.
Go get 'em! Good luck and make sure you remember to wear pants to the interview!!!!!
Well, no word yet. And the interviewer was very hard to read. They said I will hear from them next week. Its going to be a long weekend.
Don't sweat it.
It will be what will be.
And hopefully it will be.
I do admire your sense of priorities
It pays more money, is only 2.785 miles from my home

Oh, your serious. I thought that read 2,785 miles. Assumed it was a joke.
I hope things work out for you. I'm also looking to get out of my current job but at the same time I'm thankful to have one.
pretty sure he's saying 2 point 875
keep your head up and transcend positive energy - great things come to those who wait.
I "waited" a bit more than year - something finally came to me this month. It's only a four-month consulting gig, but the potential is there for it to be a lot more. It only came because I created the opening, so I'm hoping that I can continue to be creative and get the desired results. At least, though, this year can end on an "up" tick...it was looking pretty gloomy until this came along.
DENIED!

Spoke to them yesterday...Go directly to your crappy old job, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

I guess I'm still looking.

Another option would be to start an autobody with my father. If I were to go that route would we have your support? We already have in's at most of the insurance companies but more interesting work would be nice. And we would definately become a forum sponsor.

The 944 in my other post was done by us.
bummer about the job

as for support, et all, as with any vendor, shop, etc, of course as long as the rep is good and all that, we absolutely would support you - providing access to and information about good vendors and services is a large part of what this site is about
Sorry to hear the bad news, Dire.

Keep your chin up and remember, you still have a job at this point. With all the stuff going on in the world, that's a good thing.

Anchor- Congrats! I'm very happy to hear you got a foot in the door...
I feel for you, Dire...I've had too much of that experience over the last umpteen months.

Thanks, Bio. Hopefully either this gig will continue in some form after March, or some other things I'm working on in parallel will come to fruition by then. I don't allow myself to think about what I'd do if everything happened...that doesn't seem to be the way the world works these days.

Ah, but I can dream...
Sorry to here that news Dire....., still easier to find a job while your still in one, in my experience, and with the current job climates... it still sucks though.....
Bummer.

It'll happen if you don't lose faith.

Jamie
It'll all work out for the best.
Always does.
Suppose you got that job and they were all twits??
You never know....

There are so many looking for jobs now. Competition is fierce. Your position isnt as bad as some as you have a job while looking. I also like the way you think. If working for the man doesn't work out, explore your options and work for yourself.
