I need a little help with some connectors. As usual, the car that needed nothing when I bought it, needs something. The parking brake switch was not installed when I bought the car, and the wire that I thought went to the switch was just laying on the carpet. I have purchased a new switch, but the connectors do not match, so i can't connect them. I looked at the wiring diagram, and the colors of the wire are not a match. Would someone take a pic of the connector when you have time?
Also, I need a pic of the connector for the water temp sensor, it is part 29 or 30 of illustration 101-10. I know there are 2, and the connectors are different, but on the car that needed nothing, one of them is broken, and has just spade connectors. I am not near the car right now, so I can,t go look or post a pic of what I am talking abt.
thanks, Ken
I'm not sure that I am following you on the temperature sensor thing, but i have attached a photo of the temperature sensor. On mine the shaft is brass and it is not plated like the one in the photo, but for the rest is is pretty much the same. With regards to the actual connector, I think it looks the same as the connector for the Hall sender and many other connectors on the engine. So it should be black with two grooves on the one side and one on the other.
Thanks, J, but that is the one for DME, the one I need a pic of the connector is for the temp gauge sender. I believe it is just a little further back than the one you showed. I also need a picture of just the connector for the e-brake switch.
thanks, Ken
just asking for a little help here
nothing? noone has their engine apart far enough to show some pics?
Sorry man, wish I could help...But none of these things are accessible to me
i'll be in there today and snap a shot - i just happen to have a new temp sender here too
yeah they are pretty hard to access
I know the connectors on that sensor have two different lug sizes for the spades, so you cant get them reversed
i took the pics of the sender, the connector and all that - lol - but i am in the middle of doing hard drive back up and the cable that would go to the camera is currently in use by the drive - as soon as it finishes, i can post the shots
i found a workaround for the camera - here you go - hope this helps:

I think he means the sensor for the water temp, which is behind the DME temp unit as per your pic Flash?
Correct, I made the same mistake.
i called pete to verify this

the unit i have shown in the pictures is the water temp sender for the computer

the one 4" or so farther toward the back is the water temp sender for the gauge

here is a shot of the other:

The reason I am asking for a picture is because the connector cover is completely gone. The picture shown is not the one I need, but the other sender, whether it be for oil or water. Thanks for putting the pics up. I would also need a pic of the connector for the parking brake lever switch if possible. Thanks in advance. If it wasnt raining so hard, I would take some pictures of exactly what I need.
Ken
these are both of the temp senders - i don't know which other one you are talking about - where exactly is it?
for some reason, the other pic was not showing when I was looking at the post, that is the one though, can you do the e-brake connector? no real hurry.
anyone have an idea of the pn, or where to buy one of these connector covers, /the 2nd one/? I need to do a bit of searching now that I know what it looks like.
never mind, now that I look more closely, I see that it is shrink wrap, makes things a lot easier
yup - it's just rubber coated spades

i'll snap a parking brake pic when i go back down - i'm up and down all day today working on the supercharger
here ya go:
