Stunningly clean Waylander, are you using a polishing paste of some sort?

Why four of them? Are you driving electric? ?

I rebuild them for other owners,
A rebuild in the shop costs about $150 exchange, I do them for about $60

Hey Waylander,
Is shipping included back and forward?

Erm afraid not,
They are pretty heavy to post, the last one I posted I insured for $400 during transit, 48 hour cost $25
It's not really practical for outside the UK, but I can always post out a kit of parts
A new one is over $800

Very interesting that you can get all the parts. I took mine to a rebuild shop and they were unable to get all the parts for the rebuild. Ended up buying an already rebuild one, but it was costly! Maybe we could arrange a group shipment of parts, split the shipping, and have the kits for rebuilds as needed? Just a thought...

The parts I can get
Rear bearing
Brush box
Solenoid
Bendix gear
Armature
Bearing for the nose(goes in the bell housing
Fulcrum arm
And some magnets
And some casing parts
I can buy the brushes only instead of the box but soldering them in is a pain, and not much in cost
For alternators I can get
Bearings
Slip rings
Rectifiers
Regulators
Suppressors
And a few other small parts

Are starters NLA ? I thought at least in the US ( nomidea about ROW ) there are plenty of rebuilt ones available and form various sources ., all for under $ 200 or so . Is that not the case ?

Ds, it was not the case for me. I went to 2 rebuild shops and neither could get the parts. IIRC a paid @ $400 for a rebuilt one and it was the last one the rebuilder could locate.
As a matter of fact, I got a "cheapo" to tide me over until I could get the Bosch one.

Not to be confused with the tiptronic starter, which is the same as a 944 and plentiful

I replaced the starter on my six speed 968 with a rebuilt one, it was inexpensive ( < $ 200 ) and easy to source , but that was many, many years ago .. not sure how long ago, very possibly as long as ten years ago .. things clearly have changed since .
