I'm not sure if anyone has done this, but I really like the webbing interior door handle on the new boxster spyder, and I'm not especially fond of the dinky plastic door handles in the 968...could be a cool modification. what do you think? (other than it being a waste of time, I'm already fully aware of that!)

Can you post a pic of the handle or a link. I'm not sure what it looks like but would like to see it.

Thanks Direwolf, I think it looks cool and is really functional. One of the things I'm doing for Hobie Cat is designing a quick release harness for trapeze sailing, and it's hard to get around the functionality of a webbing loop as a release, so easy grab and pull from any direction...
If anyone comes up with something, I am very keen as long as it works well and weighs less than the stock system!
Somewhere there is a magazine article on replacing the door panel on a 944 door with, I believe, a piece of sheet metal with leather door pulls. It seemed rather straight forward using the original door panel as a template. IIRC, I read the article within the last year and it was in a Porsche magazine.

The color of the pull would be the only other thing that matches the emergency blinker switch on our cars. Go for it.
Haha, I know, and on my car it would tie in with the exterior. I'll design up a part and give it a shot. I have a 3d printer at work, I'll make a mock up of it and try it out.
