The right (passenger side) main bow on my cab has broken. The upholsterer I have gone to said its easy to remove some of the top to expose this piece so I'm going to give it a try. My question is after I expose the framework and hopefully successfully remove the broken bow should I keep the top up or can I lower the top? I don't see how the top can remain up without the bow holding it up. If I have the upholsterer remove the bow I'm not sure how I'll have to get the car back home while the a welder who has repaired Porsche convertible parts has the bow.
Either way I have to know which way to keep the top.
Any tips about removing this will be appreciated.
the broken part is behind the weather stripping and stripping bracket
