No way my 951, or 968 are even close. My buddy has a 79' 924 turbo. I bet pretty early survivor. Ill have to let him know. Wonder if theyll differentiate between, 924, and 931 tho.

Wow, that would be cool if you could find one of those. I have found that the public relations cars are regular production cars with option code 740 which means they were used in car shows or something but that would be for North American 968s.

Gilder's car is #8 of the 968 coupes PRODUCED (not necessaruily sold as cars could be destroyed in shipping or left in Europe, wrecked during a test drive, ect, never actually being sold).

the ones i would like to find are the ones that they are required by US import law to build each year for testing, but then if they get a waiver on the crash tests, never made it to the shredder - this happens all the time, but they cannot be sold for street use

No, sorry, he is NS820068, part of the run starting with NS820061.

I have never seen a 968 with a VIN lower the 61. If you find one let us know. That would be cool.

you probably never will in full car form - as i said, they could not be sold for street use - there are a couple of them that have popped up over the years as a bare chassis later used as a track car - i have no idea how many survived the crash tests, or were not destroyed

PCNA records won't show them either, as they never hit the sales database

but, it would be interesting for sure to find them - sort of like all of the missing cobra chassis that carrol stashed and later popped up

I submitted my application a number of weeks back and I heard back from PCNA this weekend, I'll post a photo of the badge once i have it.
