I first posted about the car here, four and a half years ago - since then things have gone really well with it.
Dyno before
and after
It's been an absolute hoot for me. In addition to the supercharger, S4 brakes, KW3 suspension, Recaro Pole seats, cage and harnesses and BBS Le Mans wheels it's now running
- Motorsport style flywheel
- Limited slip diff
- Bray Krause extinguisher carrier
I'm clearly biased having had all the work done but personaly I think it was well worth the money and I still get a huge amount of enjoyment from it
Happy to try and answer any questions

ps - you don't visit the site for four years and they change it all round - typical I like the new look of it.
lol - that'll teach ya - this is the best place to go for up to date 968 stuff - hope to see you here more
very cool car - tell us more about it - details - the kit layout, the tuning, how it drives - all the good stuff
Yes, more details please. Car looks good in that pic.
And welcome back to the best 968 resource on the planet.
is that a Rotrex oil resevoir feeding the supercharger?
Yes, it is - the supercharger has an independent oil supply and an oil cooler as well.
edited because I can't tpye.
lol - if you look closely, he has the rotrex in there too - that kit has it oriented the other way, due to the extra space created by the AC delete
So is this one of Colin's builds? Nice to see they are still out there running
What kind of boost are you running with your SC? Are you on premium gas or race fuel?
Indeed yes - mine was the fifth that he built (or maybe the sixth).
Premium Gas - 98Ron, or superunleaded. Boost peaks at under 7 psi. It's my daily drive.
Ah!, Dear boy, dear boy - most kind of you - how are you getting on with yours?
Kind regards,
Fraser.
Framac,
What internal changes were done to the engine and was the exhaust modified to free it up to get to 370hp?
Are you running a custom chip or what changes were made to the fuel delivery beyond bigger injectors?
Unfortunately being in Australia, it is a bit hard to live without A/C - but it is a good indication of what is possible.
If you look at the 928 Motorsports dyno figures for the stage 2 S/C kit, power drops off above about 6,000rpm - not sure if this is the standard exhaust. Ninemeister in the article on the 430hp car, quoted that the Cat in the OE exhaust was the limiting factor.
Any other issues with the car? What is it mainly used for?
Some detailled photos of the under bonnet plumbing and mounting of the intercooler, etc would be good. It is also nearly impossible to see where the intake air filter is located on some of the kits - so where is this on this set-up.
Thanks heaps.
Hi - no internal mods to the engine, and the exhaust is the standard Porsche unit, with a standard cat.
The car spent a day on an emulator when the kit was fitted having the chip remapped. I appreciate your concerns about a/c, however not such an issue in the North West of England (that said, there have been a few pictures posted of us queuing / waiting to go on track with the car doors open to try and get cool air in the cabin (keep fit windows rather than electric ones, and the cage makes rolling them up and down a bit of a mission with the doors shut).
I know with 9Ms 420 car the exhaust became an issue - mine has been fine, but if I went to 420 I know more work would be needed.
The car is a daily driver, and does a few track days here and there as well. I'll get some pictures of under the bonnet when I've got the camera out next - the air intake filter lives in the front left wing, along with the oil cooler for the supercharger.
Hoping this helps?
All the best,
Fraser.
Fraser,
Really enjoy it, quite a bit different from an Elise, which I was thinking about a Honda conversion before I sold it. Now seeing yours I'm thinking about supercharging the 968! Alhough the only key missing part is the money to make it happen, I'm sure thats just a minor problem...
It's a pretty impressive car, good to see you post up about it.
Paul
the rotrex works extremely well - the one we use on our kit has proven to be very solid at the levels we are running, and with the tuning we have (especially the part throttle tuning) - an intercooled kit obviously opens up the door for more power, as is seen on fraser's charts - the 308 he shows at the wheels cranks up to whopping 355 at the flywheel (using the standard 15% 968 drivetrain loss, as the figures they used don't seem to make sense) - that's danged impressive though, and has to be a whole lot of fun to drive
much easier to do than a turbo for sure, and a whole lot less money too
Fraser - How many kMs have you racked up in 4 years? Any reliability problems? Car looks the business with the gold wheels and matching CS livery.
Rxter, I've put between 40 and 50 thousand miles on it, which in new money comes uo to around 65 to 80 thousand kilometers - it's a daily driver usually. No reliability issues with the supercharger kit, and none with any of the running gear that's directly attributable to it (just usual stuff like pinion bearings). I'm delighted you like the look of it - not everyone's cup of tea
Paul RN - remind me whereabouts you're based?
Fraser.
Just down the road Fraser, in Birmingham.
Paul RN - shout out if you want to come for a clatter - easy for me to get to Brum.
All the best,
Fraser.
Hello Fraser,
Verry nice to read about the performance you are getting from your Rotrex!
I am planning to put one on my car aswell. I use it on the track only, so the plan is to start with a bigger pully for a modest 300HP or so and go to a smaller one for more revs/boost if there are no problems.
Is the one you have the C30?
I understand that the C30 is up to 400HP in theory and the bigger ones have problems with beltslip?!
Thanks, Willem..
