bronze it?
A BMW specialist near our home has a "wall of shame" in his office, where he displays parts from customers' cars that have gone kablooey. Looks like you have a great candidate for such a display.
The old blowfish hose...

That's crazy!
I should add the plastic sunroof latch/hinges and the sun visor clips...a very artistic masterpiece in the making...
I've got a pair of stripped plastic sunroof gears I could add to the budding masterpiece...
Mine did the exact same thing over the summer.
Yeah, I'm sure it's a very common problem. To check the gears, all you have to do is remove the panel on the roof near the back of the sunroof by removing seven screws, and then remove the covers of the gear drive assembly by removing five phillips screws. The smaller of the two sets of teeth on the gear are what drive the lifting arms, and these are what tend to strip. I would recommend anyone with a coupe drop what you're doing and check them right now. The gears are only $6.51 apiece from Sunset. If yours are stripped, order a new pair before your sunroof becomes inoperable. And then go to www.clarks-garage.com to read up on the procedure for setting the torque at which the slip clutch disengages. I'm going to be going through this procedure when I get my gears on Monday, and will post about my experience, as Clark's instructions are a bit confusing.
