NRG PILOTA 320mm WHEEL

My intr is light gray.
NO!!!

It looks cheap!

Save your pennies for a club sport wheel. You'll be more than happy.
I like the colors and grooves at your thumbs. But your right, it does look cheaply constructed.
Cheap looking, I prefer the Club Sport wheel.
The purist in me says no - go for the OE sports steering wheel. I agree however, that if your interior is all one colour (like mine being black), something to lift it would be good.

Why not compromise and get a Club Sport steering wheel and get the rim trimmed in a different colour alacantra.

The other problem would be getting a boss to fit the car - is there one available.

If anyone knows of a RH drive interior update website, let me know. some silver trim across the dash would lift a very black interior.

In the end - this is not about being one of the crowd - if you like it, go for it and be different. I am sure that the judges if you enter the car in a concours event will not be as liberal.
I couldn't quite stomach the price of the OE wheel so I compromised and this is probably where I'll end up. Basic black, 30mm smaller than stock and has those cute, go faster, thumb rests

looks nice Dave. Why don't they just cover the whole thing in leather. looks better that way. That's biggest difference between the 330 and all the rest. I prefer the padded, wider center even if there is no horn.
rhude - i'd like it if the silver parts were black - i hate the cheap aluminum look in the interior - i paid a fortune to get rid of that in the M3 (the aluminum parts are still in the boxes in the attic)

as long as it's black and it's stiff and feels good in my hands, then i'm good

lol - yeah - i know i just set that one up - too easy

DAMN YOU

I hate it when you point out the joke before I can say it. Kills the mode.
Think P.O.R.S.C.H.E. not Honda.
lol - that's something i don't think they have ever gotten right - i generally hate porsche steering wheels - there isn't one that i actually like, and so far, only the clubsport replica that i can tolerate
A bit too techy for me. I like old-school black leather wrapped wheels.
rhudeboye - not that excited about that wheel - maybe if it was all black...

Has anybody replaced their sterring wheel with a raid airbag wheel? Available from Gert @ Carnewal there are a few options (Daytona (1st pic), Freeway, Siblberpfeil (2nd)) in 340mm diameter. I'm not sure what if any mods would be necessary - I've seen clains that the 964 hub will work on a 968??? But cost from Gert (including airbag) comparable to a 993 wheel and if theres no mods required....and if you have a tip for abit (ok a lot more) you could upgrade to paddle shifting....
They both look fairly innocuous if they come in full black leather. You can always put a Porsche crest on the airbag to dress it up. If it ever goes off at least you get a decent impression on your forehead
They are (at least the Daytona) essentially the same as RUF’s – made by the same company as I understand it… As for the decal even if I was to mod a 996 three spoke I would still go with a embossed crest airbag over one of the colored ones – just my personal preference. If it’s a direct bolt-on (964?) I would go with one of these and pull the RAID sticker and replace it with a PORSCHE or 968 one…

And while I like the look of the CS wheel I would preferred to keep an airbag (newer too vs an almost 20 year old model). I would like a smaller diameter (340mm vs 360mm) and as I understand it brings it out about another 20mm – being 6’4” a little more leg room and closer to me would be a benefit

Rhude – sorry for the hijack….probably should have started my own thread….
