over the years i've thrown a "detail day" party here at the garage mahal - sort of a "spring cleaning" motivated kind of thing - it has been fairly informal, but we get quite a few guys over and we really get a chance to go over the cars

in preparation for the season, and knowing that the paso robles event is coming up, i know i need to detail both of mine - it occurred to me that others might want to do the same

to that point, i have no problem opening up the garage and hosting such a thing, but obviously others would have to be interested - it would have to be in late march, but it seems doable

i have the buffers and such, but you would need to bring your own products

in the past, i have arranged for things like onsite wheel repair, and paintless dent removal, to be here at the same time, and could again if i know in advance

thoughts?
Sounds good to me Flash. Being black, and 17 years old, my car is in perpetual need of detailing. And paintless dent removal on site? Oh hell yes!

cool - i'm thinking march 26

i spoke with daryl, and i think we can do another bi-coastal detail day simulcast - that way he can give us tips and stuff, and we can really go to town
That would be cool...I definately need to detail my "East Coast" car....

I had to read this a second time to realize that "bomfactory" was describing his 968...

I thought: "Who at 17 owns a 968?"

I wish I was "in the area" to participate in such an event...
Well Flash I feel like this was catered to me (probably not but I can dream). I will be there! As long as unforeseen events don't happen which i'm pretty low-key and things like that don't happen to me

I don't have a problem bringing my own stuff but umm... I'm not sure what to bring. Yes I know, it's rather sad. Maybe a grocery list of some good things(plus brands) to bring.

Lastly, I have wheels coming next week and I'm planning on doing my own wheel repair. So hopefully they won't need to be done that quickly again. And I have no dents(knock on wood) at the moment so I'm good there also.

Langley968- I was 17 when I got my 968. So there's at least one.
lol - it is what got me thinking about it

i'll post a list when i get a minute
The PDR is a wonderous thing. I was simply amazed. Best $ I ever spent on any cosmetic repair. If Bob gets the same guy he is a genius. I hope to attend - had a great time last year and the car looked terrific. March/April looks to be mad busy though.
cool - this looks like a it's a good thing then

can i presume then that stephan and rxter will be making the paso run?
unfortunately, i will be in seattle for the weekend of 26 march. if plans change however, i'm there.
i could bounce to the following weekend, but i thought that might be too close - maybe that's better though - thoughts?
I'm open for either weekend. It would make more sense to do closer to the date because they will be "cleaner." Unless it rains or something. I can't do the weekend before though. A toss up for me since I won't be attending Paso Robles.
Yes indeed...talked to Flash earlier today!

For a bi-coastal simulcast event, the 19th is out as I have a previous commitment, BUT, I'm in for most any other day. I had planned to have my annual "Hershey Prep Picnic" early in April anyway. Any other East Coasters up for a day of primping and polishing?

- Darryl
okee dokee - we are going to do saturday april 2nd - it is now on the events calendar

i can arrange for the paintless dent removal guy - be aware that he charges $100 a panel when i line up enough work, but more when i don't - so, what he charges will depend on how many cars i have
April 2nd looks good for me so far...then I just need to keep it looking good until May 20-22nd in Newtown.

I haven't made my mind up about Hershey yet, a lot depends on weather.

Jay
inked in for 2 april. i will gladly share concours detail prep tips for the socal contingent subject to interest.
