Can anyone comment on any problems associated with putting a 20lb sub-woofer in a wheel well? Balance and handling comes to mind. Has anybody dealt with this issue?
20lbs won't make all that much difference
So Bob if I added another five lbs. With an amp for a total of 25 I would be ok? Does it matter which side? By the way I enjoyed the detail day stream!
probably not, but it really all depends on what else you have in the car - remember that gas weighs over 6lbs per gallon, so the weight of the car varies by a lot more than any amp and sub like that - sure, weight has an effect, and obviously we like to keep the car light, but enjoying it is important too - i have a lot more weight in stereo gear than i'd like, but i also like the sound to be right, so it's a compromise i'm willing to make
Besides my fat ass nothing! I thought that if I could I would put these two components in the well to leave space in the hatch area for the occasional trip. I have the tool kit that came with the car and a spare tire of course, but that's about it. I don't know if you caught the thread were I mentioned I dropped off my car at Pete's on Saturday . As a new member it is really cool to have so much info at my thumbs and be able to learn about the car and what some of your options are. I am struck by the camaraderie of the members of the site. Everyone is pretty open and friendly. Has a good vibe. Thanks for the info!
