I'm planning to install a 3-gauge panel in the area in the console normally occupied by the cubbie, primarily because I want an oil temperature gauge, as I plan to track the car extensively once I get it all put back together. In deciding what to put in the other two slots, I was thinking a transaxle oil temperature gauge might be a good candidate for one of them (actually, tamathumper recommended it). Has anyone done this before? Where would the sender be located on the transaxle? The fill plug, which would normally be the logical place, has an allen head, so there may not be enough room on it to drill a tap for the sender. Any of the racers out there doing this? I'm thinking it might be "cool" (sorry, couldn't resist) to see how long it takes for the transaxle oil to come up to operating temp, and how much the temperature fluctuates.
Also, any suggestions for the third slot are welcome. I'm leaning toward either an accurate voltmeter, or possibly an ammeter. Thanks.
