Just got back from another visit to Germany.

Fourth day on the Nordschleife, this time with a prepared Opel Corsa Turbo. Lots of fun, got down in the low 9 minute range. Saw lots of interesting stuff being tested there as well (as usual). Test 991s both on track and outside the restaurant at dinner time. Cayman R and a really low looking Boxster (no idea what that was) being tested as well.

Also hit the Frankfurt Auto Show on Sunday (world's biggest). It's unbelievable. Porsche stand was great, but the multi-level affairs from Audi, M-B, and BMW were awe-inspiring, complete with tracks around which they paraded various cars (old and new). Been to a lot of auto shows, but never anything like this!

Big surprise was how fantastic the 991 looks in person. I was underwhelmed when I saw photos, but in person - WOW! Great front end, nice changes to rear end, Panamera-esque interior. They have done a great job.

Some photos from the trip are here.
Thanks for posting about your trip!

I was in Germany earlier this year and can't wait to make the next trip. Is the Frankfurt Auto Show a yearly event? I think I will plan around that time...
I believe the Frankfurt Auto show deals in cars every other year (as opposed to commercial vehicles). I just lucked out being there at the right time.

850,000 visitors, and it seemed like it! Overwhelming.
Chris,

good to hear that you had fun during your visit.

I have been on the Nordschleife at 17 September, maybe we could have met.

Regards,

Jörg
Chris,

Great photos of Deutschland - made me long for the time when I was still working and traveling there a few times each month for business. Your photo indicates that you have not aged much since attending Hershey years ago.

Living life at high speed (racing and always on airplanes) has kept me young! Didn't Einstein have a theory on this?

It would have been great to have seen you again. Did the Nordschleife on the 12th...was in Nuremberg by the 17th, unfortunately.
