Hello all,

I have seen a 92 coupe for sale and wanted to read owners thoughts on these cars so joined your forum.

Have always liked the look of Porsche but never owned one.

Wanted to see what to check for, what issues arise and associated costs.

It has 180k miles and owner is asking 6700.

Bernie
Hi Bernie,

Lots of thing s to read here, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

If you get to a decision point there is a PPI form posted for your use (Pre-purchase Inspection List)

Jay
Depending on where at the Jersey shore you mean you could have Max at Provost in Bordentown I inspect it for you. He is a very good 968 mechanic.
At 180k, you'll want to take a close look to see if the PO has kept good maintenance records (belts, fluids, hoses, etc). If the records up somewhat up to date, and you are a decent back yard mechanic, $6700 doesn't sound bad for an asking price. You can probably get it for close to $5800 or $6000. And if it's in good condition, you could part it out for nearly that much. It does have a lot of miles, and you can get one with far less miles for a few thousand more if your budget allows. But again, maintenance records and condition is the more determining factor.
