So as usual I am late to work today. It's Wednesday, which means that traffic sucks both coming and going. Days like this I take the RX8 because I like to use the 968 on relaxed days when I can enjoy the car. So I hop in the 8 and it won't start. Battery is a bit tired, the starter is 5 years-old, coils have 25K miles on them. The starter on this car has been problematic since the design. Anyway, I move the radar detector to the 968 and toss in my bag - I'll deal with this later - got to go.

Yep - rained on the way in. Since my top is always down that was a fun bit of dodgem.

I am just about done with that Mazda. Fun car, but it seems like it spends more time in the shop than it should. Maybe I'll sell it off and get a proper commuter. Like a Z4, or a beater Boxter - yeah, that's the ticket.

OK, rant over. I feel better now. Thanks.
Wow, tight jeans shirt open to the navel. Thanks for that good old memory. On my way to college in 74. Want to rant? Where did 37 years go? Lol
OK, so 2 weeks ago I took the Volvo in for 90,000 mile service. Included in my list is the "knuckle cracking" sound coming from the front end. Volvos are known for Strut Tower plate failure so I suggest that this is the problem. "No sir" everyhting's fine.

2 weeks later and the noise is so bad that every time I go over a bump it sounds like the frame of the car is seperating...3 days in the shop...um, its a sway bar mount that has "cracked in two". Three days in the shop and I pick up the car...drive 5 feet and CLUNK...same noise....

Stay tuned, I'm ready to buy a BMW with 3 years bump to bumper so I don't have to deal with this BS.

Rant not nearly over,

Jay
i think you can get 6 years/100k on the bmw now
6 yrs/100K before what, it starts making the "knuckle-cracking" noise? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />
