I purchased a pair of heated sports seats from a salvage 89 turbo S with no information on the electrical condition of the seats. They are however, in cosmetically excellent condition. I have a question about the heated seat switches. Are they supposed to stay in the "on" position when engaged? When i click the switch on either seat in either direction (activate/deactivate), the switch returns to the neutral center position. I've been messing around with the passenger seat and it seems that the seat warms up when you hold the switch in the "on" position, which makes me believe that the switches have a broken piece? New switches are about $120, which makes it a relatively expensive experiment if my switches are functional. The seats currently have heat switches without the adjustment wheel.
My heated seats activate when pushed on the top but always return to the neutral position.
Thanks!
Ok, so the heaters in the seats work. However, for the heat to work, the switches have to be held in the on position. Does anybody have any ideas on what's going wrong? Also, if the fuse for heated seats is in, the battery drains if the car sits for 2 days or more.
do you have the relays for the seats?
I have no clue, i literally just plugged them in.
That would make sense, am I missing relays?
There would have to be a latching relay for the switches to work as they do on my car.
yup - i have 2 of them - one for each seat
Is there a specific relay that I need?

Also, is this an easy fix or something I should hand off to my mechanic?
the ones i am using are a 928 part number, but i think the original for the 968 as well. i might be able to get the number this morning.
Is what i need the Control unit seat heater 92861852103? Pelicanparts says that it is the seat heater relay and they are charging $280.

92861852100 is only $55. It is in the 944 section while 92861852103 is in the 968 section.

Is it possible to switch connector plug ?

thanks

You can open the femaleconnector and give the connector a new layout.

The female pins are moveable.
Thanks for your reply,

I will test it.

I made a new test , and if i stay on the button on position "On" like i am forcing = the seat heat !

I think the relay doesn't keep the impulsion it's always off... except if i stay on the "On" Position.

What do you think ?

You can open the relay and look wat is happening.
I just find the problem with this note.

I made a recalibration and its work.
