Hmmm...another 968 with the cruise control cable over the vanity cover, and the wrong 968 badge on the rear??? Same as the one on BaT...

Wrong 968 rear badge ??
Also, I hope those 6 K miles were driven at the rate of 5 miles every week , or otherwise the car was driven at the very least once every month or so for this entire time, and not just logged 6 K miles in the first year , and then stored away in a garage for the next 19 years....

There are many better looking cars on this forum....

Such an early car should have the "sharp edge" 968 badge, rather than the rounded numbers used later.

Maybe you can add an picture how it should look like in your opinion.
I did hear somebody say last year for the first time that the one i had was incorrect for an early model, same as the badge on the hood/bonnet of the car.
As far as i know the car is original as it is, and never had any front or rear damage which could be a lead on changing the badges.

Funny, I recall seeing one of the “ sharper edges “ badges and thought it’s an after-market knock off someone bought to replace the factory badge ..

Have to say the "8" looks standard/vertical font whereas the "96" looks italic .... must look at mine in the morning.....

I don’t know how “early” my car is, but it’s likewise a 1992. It came with these same numbers, but I swapped them out for silver ones because they were all but invisible on my Midnight Blue car.

Even on a lighter shade than midnight blue ( iris blue ) I changed mine to silver - see my avatar - because there was not enough contrast for my taste . But I most certainly can’t imagine having black numerals on a black car , or a midnight blue car , or an amazon green which looks almost dark blue ..and so on. Although that’s a subjective matter of course..this is just my personal preference ..

I have silver numbers on the back of my 92, Cobalt Blue car looks so much better

And it’s not just aesthetically nicer, but silver paint is typically lighter weight than black paint, and it attracts less heat, so being lighter and cooler it makes the car faster ..I’d say easily the equivalent of + 10 hp and 10 ft/lbs torque .
( just borrowing from Jay’s theory that silver cars are faster .. ).

Red cars are only faster in the eyes of the police somehow .. it seems they attract a disproportionate amount of speeding tickets and other violations, and it’s not really because people who own red cars drive faster or are reckless, etc..
