yes
love that it's a targa
hate the lack of trunk space
i like the rear, except for the fender arch line that prevents really wide tires
i don't like the stock front, but the slopnose kit is decent
i hate that the passenger seat doesn't move
the car feels quick and nimble in any form, but the 2.0 really scoots. not a big fan of the 6. they didn't quite get that right.
how's that?

Like em. Hard to find one not rusted out. Lots of customisation choices. Seen some pretty sick body kits for em. Met a guy that threw a Subaru WRX motor in one.....yep like em. Not as much as 944's and 968 though.

I gave the 2.0 L 914s a serious look before I bought the 944 that preceded the 968 I have now. The 2.0L cars were fun to drive and with a little suspension were great handling cars. Body style to my eye was a bit quirky, but it grows on you. I didn't by one because I couldn't find one that hadn't been run into the ground or that had rust issues. I drove the 914-6 as well and I found that car to be a little rough around the edges. The 914-6s, when new, were not sufficiently cheaper than a 911T, and not nearly as nice a car, so they were not a big seller. That said there isn't anything else in the world like a mid-engined car. If you have never driven a Boxster or a Caymen, go try one and you'll see what I mean.
I'd still consider buying one if it were a sound car car and use as a commuter car, can't beat the gas mileage either.

Neat design, can be made to be very quick, especially in the twisties, but imho, if there were a picture next to the word "homely" in the dictionary, the 914 would occupy that space.

At 6'2", I found the 914 to lack sufficient leg room because the seat couldn't go back enough. Other than that, I've always liked this mid-engined Volkswagen/Porsche.

The friend I purchased my 968 from has for the last year been stripping his 914 down to replace all the rusted steel.

I think they're uglier than a bag of smashed a55h0l3s... Oops, I was typing with "Candid Lock" on.
Let's try that again,... while I appreciate their nimble nature and retro styling, their overall appearance is perhaps not entirely to my liking.

Love em.....would like to try out a 914-6 someday. They were such a departure from the 911 in styling a lot of people found them difficult to love. It didn't help that the base engine was a VW.
I think the stying is very european and I really like the low/wide stance.

Tama I think everyone appreciates your honest sincerity. Wish I could learn how to do that. Sugar coating has never been my strong suit!

Tama, I agree with your Caps Lock issue. That being said I have never driven one so, like Paris Hilton, the body may be a bag of ****** but the ride might be ok

Have my on one locally but just don't have the space for another car (yet...). My son and I would like it as a track car.
Don't mind the look at all...

An NSX to a 914? That just doesn't seem right

That is one nice looking 914!

I found a nice clean, no rust original car for sale in my area. I want to take it for at least a test drive. I have always been curious about them. I'm not to sure about value but the owner is asking around 6000.

I must admit the slant nose kit makes it a much nicer looking car.

Agreed, slant nose is better.
