Can anybody help? I messed up one of my "long" cam cover bolts (p/n 92810411701) and I need one in the car by Sunday 8-12. Anybody have one I could buy? I see they are about $10 new on various sites, but they don't appear to be in stock. Doesn't have to be new, but threads need to be in good shape of course. I'll replace it if used.
daryll???
If it's just the threads, use a thread file and a die to clean them up for reuse.
Sorry, wish I could help.

If it's one of the corners, I ran my 944S for a couple years without one because the threads were stripped and the hole was actually split and cracked away. There's no oil pressure up there, so it only wept a little and I kept it controlled with RTV.
Call Roger at www.928srus.com I would highly recommend replacing them all. They do snap, been there. Roger has the short expensive ones made up, so they are a fraction of the price of the Porsche ones.
While I have spares way up here in the North Country (haha) I did just use a longmetric screw and washer for 6 months until the real deal arrived. As long as the rubber grommet is in place it worked just fine.
For the moment, I'm going with the long M6 and a washer as DaveN did. Just took the car out for a drive and I saw no oil weeping afterward, so I'm hoping that this will hold up well enough until I get the new bolt.
I probably have what you need. Let me double check that part number when I get a chance. I hope your workaround gets you by in the meantime.
