Selling my stunning 1992 Porsche 968, with only 68,200 miles, which has been my daily driver in good weather for the past two years… This is a relatively rare Polar Silver with gray interior. The car probably has a bit more than the stock 240 hp given the performance mods listed below… The car has a 6-speed manual and the handling is absolutely superb with an upgraded suspension (noted below), while retaining good ride quality.
Asking $10,000
The good stuff:
- Only 68,200 miles
- Clean Carfax report… two owners
- Paint is excellent with only a few small scratches/stone chips
- Interior is outstanding… perfect leather seats and no dash cracks
- 17” Porsche Cup wheels with good Yokohama tires (approx 75 percent of tread left)
- A/C blows cold, but I believe has never been converted to R134...
- Upgraded Blaupunkt Heidelberg radio with CD player
- New brakes (see below)
- New Timing and balance shaft belts, front engine seals at 61,700 miles (May 2011)
- New valve seals July 2011
- Complete tune up summer of 2011 including fuel filter, plugs, distributor cap/rotor
- All fluids changed summer 2011
- Oil just changed
The really cool stuff:
- Koni yellow adjustable sport struts, front and back
- H&R performance springs (lowered car just over an inch)
- Porsche M30 sway bars
- Performance Chip (RS Barn)
- New Zimmerman rotors and Porterfield R4-S brake pads
- K&N Air Filter
- Airbox modification (significantly increases engine breathing)
Yes, power and handling are awesome!
The not so good stuff:
- The sunroof does not work… not sure why but have never had it checked out
- The engine uses oil… about 400-500 miles per quart, but no blue smoke and no drivability problems… two Porsche specialists have checked it out and found nothing obvious… good compression, 195/200 in all cylinders… the thought of both shops is that since the car sat unused for many years, the oil control rings could be gummed up.
- Oil seepage from the balance shaft housing… typical for these cars
