And now I am tired... so off to Paso I go!

(I also notice that I am 4 posts away from a very "special" post!)
Does the result equal one happy wife? (Or is happy wife an oxy-moron?).
That looks very nice, I like how much difference the improvements in the lighting has made. Did you cut out the wall behind the stove prior to the 'before' picture? I like the backsplashes as well.. tile?
Great job. I could use a larger kitchen. Any interest? Lol

the result = a VERY happy wife = agreeing to go to Paso = one VERY happy 968er!

In my early 20's I was an electrician for several years, so lighting is my specialty.

I did cut out the wall behind the stove. It has a sliding pocket door to the left of the stove, which I eliminated as well as the upper wall behind the stove and counter. As a result we had to go with the ceiling hung exhaust fan, which is a fantastic unit.

Backsplash is tile in pre-arranged sheets (bought @ Costco - great quality). Floor is travertine (imported from Turkey - bought @ Home Depot). The porous properties of travertine absorb the coloured grout well, but in a kitchen apllication, three coats of sealer is highly recommended!

I think I'm "done" for awhile. My children think that dad will help them out in the near future as they begin to acquire their houses, so I think that I will stick to the "consultant" role.
Looks nice!! You must be feeling pretty good about the change.
very nice ! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/clap.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

as for our kitchen, here it is : http://www.opentable.com/default.aspx <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.png" class="smilie" alt="" />
What a turn around. Wish the after shots were bigger as I bet I'm missing a lot of good stuff in the little details

Has this site become toooooo Martha Stewart?

Martha Stuart would not know HOW to do any of the work. She would simply dictate what colors and what materials to use.... wait... that's what my wife did!

I shouldn't complain, she has good taste. By doing the reno, she puts up with my 968 obsession!
You're right about Martha Stewart. Giving the wives something certainly does help our 968 obsession. I speak from experience
