Hi All,
I was born in Scotland, and moved to the US 19 years ago. A Porsche 968 is in my future, just not sure when! I have a lot to learn so I'll be quiet, and read as much as I can on the site before posting silly questions.
Thanks!
Scottish007
Welcome,
Enjoy the site, silly questions welcomed (though you will be harrassed).
Jay
Welcome - lots to learn - we like silly questions because that is when everyone's true personalities come out - lol
Don't get offended just jump right in and have fun! That is what I did.
I just got my 968!
Ed
Welcome 007, from across the pond...
Too much to work with here - You can make all kinds of Star Trek references about needing more power when you finally get a car! Awesome!
See too much goofy stuff here - just start reading and asking stuff.
Thanks for the welcome! I don't get easily offended. Here to learn and banter, and probaby offend others (inadvertently, of course ).
The only silly or seemingly stupid questions are those not asked. As long as you don't make fun of someone's political or sexual orientation you will be fine. For example, democrats don't like to be called wusses. Republicans don't like to be called sensitive and caring with a fashion flair! Other than that you should be fine. Lol
Hi 007,
I'm an Atlanta 968 guy, and I am sending this post from Edinburgh airport. I've been the past week here in Scotland enjoying some incredible golf. Drop me a pm if I can help you in any way with a 968 buy.
For what it is worth there are several on eBay right now. A few under 10K
Ah Edinburgh, what a nice place.
Welcome, and no doubt you've acclimated very quickly and easily , insofar as Atlanta's weather is so similar to home in Scotland, you probably did not even realize you moved :-) :-).
Ok, since you said you're not easily offended here's a story to make you a wee bit homesick :
A guy walks into a musicians' hangout bar with a pet octopus. He bets everyone in the joint that the octopus can play any instrument as soon as he can first assess the instruments' features for about five seconds. Many patrons take the bet, but one after another are completely shocked when the octopus played their guitars, their trumpets, their saxophones, their drums, the piano etc., better that they could after just a few moments of looking at each of those. A Scotsman from the back of the room who has been watching all this unfold , finally gets up and brings his bagpipe over, telling the octopus' owner that he'll take the bet if the thing can play his bagpipe. The octopus stares at the bagpipe, and keeps staring, and staring..minutes go by, and his owner starts to sweat.. frustrated , he turns to the octopus and says : - what the hell is going on, can't you figure out how to play this ? The octopus replies : - Play it ?! , I'm trying to figure out how to remove its pajamas, so I can f*ck it !! :-)

Great to hear. My parents live just outside St. Andrews so I'm back in the "Kingdom" often. I also have great contacts in St. Andrews if you decided to return (golf clap). I'll definitely drop you a PM if I have questions. So early in the process, and lots to learn.

I check on a daily basis (obsess much?). Still trying to figure out whether to buy the "needs work" for sub $10K, or the "Wow" for $13 to $16K. Thank for letting me know!
ds968 - I LOVE that joke! Never heard it before, but I'll be sure to use it often, and whenever possible, in mixed company (these types of jokes are always well received by the fairer sex) Thanks for sharing!

Ratio of pubs to people 1:1. I jest, but if you can't get drunk in Edinburgh, there is no hope for you.
