So a few weeks ago, my front bumper got hung up on some re-bar sticking up from a curb and got yanked off when I backed up. It pulled lights out of the front plastic cover and everything. Driving it to the repair shop I noticed that the indicators acted strange but I figured that was just due to one of the lights being broken.

It is now back from the shop and doing something very strange: The left signal blinks twice as fast as the right signal. Ive checked and all bulbs are new and matching, indicators work both sides, emergency flashers too. The stranger part was that I was trying to sort it out the other day and the right indicators started blinking at double speed for about 15 seconds and then returned to normal...but the left signal always blinks at twice the normal speed (think honda civic hatch with mods blinker speed).

I'm absolutely stumped, any ideas????
Gee that's odd. The flasher load is decreased when a bulb current is not in the circuit (burnt out) thus increasing the flash rate to warn you. If your flasher is blinking fast then something is not loading the cct properly. Try turning your car off and put the blinker stalk down, this will force the park light to stay on the left. Check the park filament. The stalk up to set the right side of the car and do the same thing. Maybe it's just the dual filament bulb only 1/2 good? Just guessing here.

Remove, tap, and reseat your flasher relay.
bad (corroded) connection in the socket. clean them up and it will be fine again.

it's either that or somebody stuck the wrong bulb in the hole
